UNDER GRADUATE ADMISSION 2018-2019

 

There will be separate admission procedure for St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata and St. Xavier's University, Kolkata. Hence, the candidates aspiring to take admission need to apply separately through separate online forms available on the individual websites of the College and the University respectively. Further, candidates need to go through the selection procedure which will be different for the College and the University. They must follow the admission guidelines as announced with the respective selection lists. It must be noted that admission to the College is not transferable to the University and vice-versa.


For applying to B.Com. and B.M.S. at St. Xavier's College College (Park Street Campus), Maths / B.Maths / Stats is compulsory in +2 level for calculation of aggregate.

 

However, for applying to B.Com. and B.M.S. at St. Xavier's University (New Town Campus), Maths/B.Maths/Stats is not compulsory in +2 level for calculation of aggregate.

2. Cost of Application Forms:

  • Rs.1000/- for B.M.S., B.Sc. Mass Communication & Videography and M.Sc. Multimedia (Integrated)
  • Rs. 500/- for all other courses.
  • Rs. 100/- for Raghabpur Campus.
     

3. Dates of Online Applications

STUDENTS CAN APPLY ONLINE ONLY AFTER THE PUBLICATION OF THEIR RESPECTIVE BOARD/COUNCIL (10+2) RESULTS.

Last Dates of online applications (revised):

11 June 2018, 12 noon for B.M.S. course  and 12 June 2018, 12 noon for all other courses.

4. English Proficiency for students from Foreign Countries

Students from foreign countries need to produce their English Proficiency certificate (TOEFL, IELTS) if the instruction of study in the qualifying examination is not in English medium. Such students, without TOEFEL, IELTS are not eligible to apply. Admission details for International Students.


5. Hostel

Separate hostel accommodation, for boys and girls, will be available in the newly constructed AJC Bose Road Hostel.

6. Categories of Admissions

CATEGORY I : GENERAL, selected on merit.

CATEGORY II : Catholics, other Christians, SC, ST, OBC and schools administered by the Calcutta Province of the Society of Jesus.

CATEGORY III : Economically challenged, physically challenged, outstanding sports persons and NCC Cadets.

CATEGORY IV : Sons and daughters of College Alumni Association members with long standing record of service to College and society.
 

Students of all categories having the required eligibility will apply online through the website.


7. Arrangement for students of Category-II & III not having the required marks (60%) to apply:

These students of Category II & III who do not have the minimum required aggregate marks of 60% for applying, but fulfil all other criteria, may meet the Principal / Vice-principal / Dean for special permission to apply. Economically challenged students from a poor background may meet the Principal / Vice-principal for consideration.

Special arrangement is made in the college, for these students of Category II and III.

8. Category IV:

College Alumni Association members with long standing record of service to the college & society who seek to get their son/daughter admitted to St. Xavier's College, need to fill in a separate form available with the Principal's Office as per the following schedule.

Issue of forms from Principal's Office:

ISC & CBSE candidates: 5th and 6th June between 10am and 4pm.

WBHS & other board candidates: 11th June between 10am and 4pm.

(The online application process must be completed before collecting this form.)

 

Submission of forms to Principal's Office:

ISC & CBSE candidates: 7th and 8th June between 10am and 4pm.

WBHS & other board candidates: 12th June between 10am and 4pm.

(A copy of the online application acknowledgement sheet must be attached with the documents.)

9. NCC Cadets:

  • NCC cadets of the Army wing only, will have to appear for an interview, in uniform, on 11th June at 11am (ISC/CBSE candidates) and 12th June at 3pm (WBHS/Other Board candidates), at the College NCC office (Jubilee Building, 1st floor, Room-101).

  • Cadets interested and fit to join Armed Forces and Republic Day Camp will be given preference.

  • Cadets who discontinued NCC or completed the course need not apply under this category.

  • Please bring all necessary NCC documents duly attested by the Commanding Officer / Group Commander of the concerned NCC battalion / NCC group.


10. Sports Persons (both Men & Women) :

Sports Persons will have to appear for Trials in their respective field for consideration under this category.

Along with the trials, they will follow the normal admission procedure like admission test / interview etc.
