A football field on AJC Bose Road, Kolkata has been turned into a 300-seater boys' hostel for students of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. The Father Leeming Boys' Hostel was inaugurated on July 5, Saturday, with Principal Father Felix Raj, SJ performing the ribbon-cutting ceremony along with Calcutta University vice-chancellor Suranjan Das, Fr. Jayaraj Veluswamy SJ, provincial of Calcutta Jesuit Province, and Rector Father Dominic Savio SJ. After the unveiling of the inauguration stone, students sang Joi hok.

"About 30 months ago we were at this very spot trying to plan what we could do with this land. What was a football ground today stands as a hostel. The girls' hostel is under construction and we plan to inaugurate it next June. I want to thank everyone who worked day and night to bring up this hostel," said Fr. Felix Raj.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Suranjan Das said, "I went around the hostel and saw the rooms and other facilities. I must say that this is the best hostel in Kolkata. I want to congratulate the principal Fr. Felix Raj for it".
