Management

Father Leeming Boys’ Hostel accommodates the male students of St Xavier’s College, Kolkata, only. It is under the management of the College. The Superintendent is directly responsible to the Principal of the College and stands in Loco Parentis to all the boarders. The provision for staying in the Hostel is for one year only. A student who fails without genuine reason to attend his classes will be asked to leave the Hostel. A student who accumulates more than three arrears in an academic year may not be taken back in the Hostel the following year.

Admission

The students can apply for the hostel only if their names appear in the college selection lists. Hostel accommodation is available only for the main campus students and not for the Raghabpur Campus.The hostel admission notice will be displayed and then the online portal will be available for the students to apply. The applications for accommodation in the Hostel are generally much more than the number of seats available. The selections are made entirely on the basis of need and merit.

Lodging

The rooms in the Hostel are three seaters (three students in a room), two seaters (two students in a room) and a single seater (one student in a room) only. Generally the single seater rooms are allotted for the senior students.

Mess

The Mess of the Hostel is run entirely on a non-profit basis under the supervision of the Superintendent.

Payment

The fees of the Hostel are to be paid by the 10th of every month by debit/credit card through POS system (swiping machine) or the Online System only.

Vacations

The hostel is kept officially closed during the Puja, Christmas and Summer Vacations. No one is allowed to stay in the Hostel during these periods.

Documents Required

  1. The photocopies of the 10th & 12th Standards’ Mark Sheets/Graduation certificate and the Character Certificates from the Headmaster/Principal.
  2. The photocopy of the college admission payment receipt.
  3. The income Certificate/Salary Statement.
  4. (Only for the Catholics/Christians) letter from the Paris Priest / Pastor.

Things to be brought

The students must bring the following at the time of joining the Hostel:

  1. A mattress (size 6"x3" approximately)
  2. A pillow.
  3. Two bed-sheets and two pillow-covers.
  4. A mosquito net.
  5. A plastic bucket and a mug.
  6. A drinking water bottle.
  7. A suitcase / trunk with a good lock to keep valuables securely locked.
  8. A lock and keys for the room. A duplicate key has to be deposited in the Hostel Office.
