Puja Camp - NSS Unit II, Raghabpur Campus


The NSS Unit-II of St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Raghabpur Campus, started a seven-day camp on 26/10/24 at Paikhala School with support from the Alumni Association of St. Xavier’s College. The camp began with engaging sessions on nutrition, healthy eating, and women’s hygiene, led by dietitian Ms. Koyel Pal Chowdhury (Nutritionist, SSKM Hospital). The program was attended by 106 children and 40 mothers, with interactive learning facilitated by 36 NSS volunteers who used charts and posters.

Throughout the day, nutritious meals were provided to  the children. The camp is coordinated by Prof. Tuhin Chitrakar (Coordinator, Unit II NSS), assisted by  Prof. Subhra Pratim Roy, Prof. Sourav Banerjee, Prof. Ashesh Dhar, Prof. Surjodoy  Ghosh, Mr. Yogesh Chopra, and Mr. Pradeep Mondal.

Upcoming activities include interactive sessions with students and street plays on the harmful effects of plastic use and various awareness programmes on environmental degradation, which will be performed in various townships and villages  under Panuka Panchayat.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Alumni Association of St. Xavier’s College for their invaluable support, with special thanks to Mr. Fridusal Hassan (Secretary), Mr. Sanjib Konar and Mr. Yogesh Chopra for arranging all the logistics to ensure the camp runs smoothly.

 

Day 2,  NSS unit - II Raghabpur Campus

 

On Day II of the NSS Unit-II Special Camp at St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Raghabpur Campus, 120 young children participated in educational activities focused on environmental awareness and personal hygiene. Under the leadership of Prof. Tuhin Chitrakar and guidance from Prof. Subhra Pratim Roy and Prof. Sourav Banerjee, NSS volunteers conducted a hands-on craft session using recycled materials and a practical hygiene workshop on proper handwashing techniques. Nutritious meals were provided throughout the day, and the successfull coordination by Field Coordinator Mr. Pradip Mondal ensured a smooth and impactful experience for all participants.
