The Postgraduate Department of Education organised an invited lecture on “Internet Ethics and Social Engineering Awareness” on 20th September 2025, as per the directives of NCTE and CVC, under the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”
The session was graced by Mr. Arup Kumar Banerjee, Officer-in-Charge of Bowbazar Police Station, as the resource person. He delivered an engaging and informative talk on internet ethics, cyber safety, and the growing threats of social engineering, emphasizing the need for vigilance in everyday digital practices.

The Postgraduate Department of Education, St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata, organized an Integrity Pledge ceremony on 27th October, 2025, to celebrate the vigilance awareness week for the students of B.Ed. course to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Home Minister of independent India who was born on 31 October 1875. The event was graced by Rev. Fr. Dr. Peter Arockiam, Acting Principal and Vice Principal of Commerce (Evening), BMS and M.Com., Dr. Swati Sarkar, Vice Principal of the Postgraduate department of Education and the faculty members.

A debate on the topic ‘Digital Privacy is More About Individual Responsibility Than Government Protection’ followed by a question-answer session was organized by the Postgraduate Department of Education, St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata, under the aegis of ‘Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility’ as directed by NCTE and CVC.
Wall Magazine for Vigilance Awareness Week

To observe Vigilance Awareness Week 2025, the B.Ed. students of the Department of Education, St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata, organized and created a Wall Magazine on the theme of ‘Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility’. The activity was conducted as part of the college’s initiative to promote ethical values, integrity, and transparency among students and future educators. Various sub-themes were anti-corruption measures, accountability in public life, integrity in education, digital vigilance, and the role of youth in building a corruption-free society.
The initiative aimed to create awareness about the importance of vigilance and moral responsibility, encouraging everyone to contribute towards a transparent and ethical society.
