13th of March, 2024, it was indeed a very significant day in the SXCCAA calendar as this marks the date for the program entitled Women & Beyond on which St. Xavier's College (Calcutta) Alumni Association Women's Forum organized the second edition of the program at the Fr. Depilchin Auditorium on the prestigious ocassion of international Women's Day. The program was an initiative taken by the Women's Forum of the St. Xavier's College (Calcutta) Alumni Association, which is an integral part of the Alumni Association of the college. This program was the continuation of the International Women's Day celebration of the institution where eminent women from diverse fields like, internationally acclaimed film personality Mrs. Churni Ganguly, National award award winning singer Mrs. Iman Chakraborty and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna winner athlete Mrs. Soma Biswas was felicitated by Rev. Dr. Dominic Savio, SJ, Principal, St. Xavier's College (Autonomous) Kolkata and President, SXCCAA, in presence of Rev Jeyaraj Veluswamy , Rector , for their exemplary achievements in their respective fields. While addressing the gathering in this auspicious day Rev. Fr. Dominic Savio highlighted on the significance of women empowerment in the contemporary world and he also mentioned the initiatives taken by the college in the same regard. Fr. Principal also mentioned about the rural campus of the college in Raghabpur, where 70% of the students are girls and indeed that is a great example of empowering women with quality education in today's world. This program was well attended by alumni members, students from both Park Street and Raghabpur Campus of the college along with many distinguished guests. The program became more gracious with the dance performance of eminent dancer and alumni Mrs. Deblina Kumar Chatterjee. A panel discussion was also held with the Women Achievers of this year, which was moderated by eminent author Mrs. Rita Bhimani.
