Programme Specific Outcomes

  • PO1: To ensure that students develop global competencies in the area of basic and applied biological sciences.
  • PO2: To enhance the subject knowledge of students by using traditional and modern ICT based teaching methods and learning by participation.
  • To enrich students’ knowledge and train them in various branches of Biotechnology such as Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Plant and Animal Biology, Genomics, Proteomics, Computational Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Biotechnology, in vitro culture methodologies, Intellectual Property Rights and Disease biology, which would enable them to:
    • Emerge as skilled personnel who can take up both academic as well as industry assignments based on their aptitude in classical and applied subjects nationally and globally.
    • Apply the scientific methods by developing valid hypotheses, designing experiments, gathering relevant data using current technology, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
    • Prepare written and oral scientific communications that use tables and graphs to report results, describe detailed experimental procedures, and clearly explain conclusions.
    • Exhibit growth in academic performance, personal and professional responsibilities by developing the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • PO4: India is agriculture based economy. Our Plant biology and biotechnology modules instill in our students ideas of generating improved crops that will be more biotic and abiotic stress resistant, and nutritionally enriched.
  • PO5: Molecular medicine is gradually gaining significance in the pharmaceutical industries worldwide. Several modules in our course aim to train our students to dissect a disease to the molecular level that in turn will help them in future to design specific drugs with minimum side effects.
