PSO for the degree of Master of Science (Five-year Integrated) Multimedia with Specialisation in ANIMATION

This course is designed to guide students to explore both the theoretical and practical aspects of animation as a mode of filmmaking. The course seeks to enable them to choose a career from among a wide variety of fields that makes up animation studies and production today. A student with a MSc In Multimedia with Specialization in Animation will be able to work as a preproduction artist, concept developer, storyboard artist, 2D background artist and 2D Animator in leading 2D animation studios as well as a 3D concept developer, 3D generalist, 3D asset artist, texture artist, matt painter, 3D rigger, 3D animator, lighting artist, foliage artist, hair and fur artist, render artist, simulation artist, mocap artist and 3D compositor among others in 3D animation and VFX studios. Besides, the theoretical knowledge of the field will also equip interested students into pursuing a career in academia and research, in both the technical as well as the theoretical aspects of animation. Finally, the specialization in animation along with an overall degree in multimedia will enable them to pursue careers in all allied media fields as well as working as independent filmmakers and content producers.

PSO for the degree of Master of Science (Five-year Integrated) Multimedia with Specialisation in DESIGN

This course is designed keeping in mind the constant evolution happening in the world of design and to equip students with the necessary tools and techniques required to navigate this vast and diverse field. A student with a MSc In Multimedia with Specialization in Design will be able to choose from a wide variety of career directions considering the applicability of the field in various domains of business, commerce and culture. These include working as campaign designers, graphic design artists, regular user-interface and user-experience designers, scenographers, visual merchandisers and brand consultants for the corporate sector, working as designers for the IT industry and design houses, or as independent graphic artists, concept artists, curators, space designers, pavilion and 3D pavilion designers for government and non-government organisations. Since the course stresses upon both the practical as well as the theoretical aspects of design, both traditional as well as digital, students can also pursue a career in research on design in allied fields as well as work as illustrators, book designers, comics and graphic novel artists in the field of publishing. Lastly, the course also trains students to study the sociopolitical scenario of design along with its implications on social justice movements, the environment, local artisans, folk art, non-profitable organisations, climate change and shifting notions of culture, encouraging them to explore various new professions in numerous emerging fields.

PSO for the degree of Master of Science (Five-year Integrated) Multimedia with Specialisation in FILM STUDIES & PRODUCTION

This course is designed to guide students to explore all aspects of live action filmmaking including film theory, film history, film production as well as the cultural and aesthetic implications of cinema. The course seeks to enable them to choose a career from among the various forms of contemporary filmmaking, be it fiction, non-fiction, ad films, documentary, docu-fiction or long-form story-telling. A student with a MSc In Multimedia with Specialization in Film Studies & Production will be able to work in any leading production house or studio as a preproduction artist, production manager, concept developer, storyboard artist, researcher, screenwriter, dialoguewriter, cinematographer, editor, sound designer, graphic artist, postproduction artist, VFX artist, production designer, art director, set decorator and director. The theoretical knowledge of the field will also equip interested students into pursuing a career in academia and research on cinema, as well as in diverse allied fields like film archives, film preservation laboratories, film festivals and film criticism, while also encouraging them to pursue careers as independent filmmakers.
