Workshops: Certificate Course in Hospitality Management in collaboration with Chowman

It's been a landmark day for Raghabpur Campus of St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata, which marks a new beginning for job orientated entrepreneurship development programs. Rev. Dr. Dominic Savio SJ, Principal of St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata today inaugurated the Certification Course on Hospitality Management at this Rural Campus of the College in collaboration with Chowman, a popular QSR chain in India. Notably this Certification course is the first professional course started in the campus.

In his inaugural speech, Rev. Dr. Dominic Savio quoted T. S. Elliot mentioning Every moment is a fresh beginning and provided a broad outlook of the scenario of hospitality industry in India and the array of scope this industry provides to the youngsters and encouraged the participants of the course to embrace the challenges ahead with enthusiasm, curiosity and commitment to excellence. Rev. Father summarized the addition with a thought that hospitality is about creating a home away from home for others.

The inauguration session was also embraced by Xaverian Mr. Debaditya Chaudhury, Business Owner, Founder & Managing Director of Chowman, Oudh 1590 & Chapter 2, Mr. Sudesh Poddar, President of Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Association of India, Other, Rev. Fr. Johnson Padiyara, Vice Principal of St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata Raghabpur Campus, Prof. Tridip Sengupta, Prof. Swaraj Kumar Nandan and Professionals from Chowman.

The inaugural session was well attended by around 75-80 students who were given job assurance by the dignitaries after the completion of the course.
