Introduction
This is a four Semester structured course. The amalgamation of food Science and Nutrition with various food industries will be the focus of this course. This course is designed to stay abreast with emerging concepts in the field of Food Science & Nutrition. An added strength of this course is the diverse panel of expert faculty members from Biochemistry, Microbiology, Instrumentation, Statistics etc. Number of professionals from industries and Testing laboratories will also be delivering the knowledge with their expertise and experiences. Hence, our students will get adequate exposure to both fundamentals of Food Science and applied industrial knowledge. At the end of the final semester, they will be undertaking a two month internship program in various food industries involved in manufacturing, packaging, processing, export or quality control. After completion of this 2-year Degree course, they will be fully equipped with the theoretical as well as practical knowledge to pursue their careers in diverse sectors, including food processing, manufacturing, healthcare, research and education. Specific roles include food technologist, nutritionist, dietitian, food safety officer, quality control manager, and research scientist.
