Collaboration between St. Xavier's College and Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata
St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata in collaboration with Tata Medical Centre will be introducing three different courses in the form of one year post graduate diploma in Molecular Medical Microbiology, Medical Physics and Nuclear Medicine. The first two courses will be in collaboration with the PG Departments of Microbiology and Physics. The third one will also be delivered in collaboration with the PG Department of Physics and it will be developed only after finalization of the syllabus. The courses will also involve inputs from the Department of Statistics.
These courses will have 8 seats each and the target audience will be students having post graduate degree in the fields of Microbiology, Biotechnology, Physics and other fields of biological sciences. These courses will involve two semesters in blended mode in St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata and the Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata.
It is a perfect blend of theory and practical components involving cutting edge technology in the fields of Biological sciences and Nuclear Physics and there will also be a compulsory dissertation paper followed with internship. The course will act as a finishing degree in the fields of Microbiology, Physics and Biotechnology and will definitely increase the employability of students. These courses will also involve placement assistance and paid internship.
