Rev. Dr. Dominic Savio, SJ, Principal, St. Xaviers College (Autonomous) Kolkata and President, St. Xavier's College (Calcutta) Alumni Association addressed a higher order delegation from the Republic of Burundi today 10th October 2024 where His Excellency Ibrahim UWIZEYE, Minister of Hydraulic, Energy and Mines was present along with Mr. H.E. Alous Bizindavyi, Ambassador, Republic of Burundi. Father Principal shared his vision for the college and the current structure of the college along with the scopes and opportunities where the two countries can collaborate and help each other. Rev. Fr. Principal also shared his insights on Faculty exchange, Students exchange programs where, St. Xavier's College can help in holistic development of deserving students of Republic of Burundi. Mr. Arpan Mitra, Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Burundi preceded the meeting entitled 'Invest in Burundi - the Heart of Africa'. The members of the delegation team highly appreciated the thoughts shared by Rev. Fr. Principal, specially focused on higher education in subjects like Economics, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Data Science up to doctoral studies, and invited Father Principal and his associates for their upcoming Round Table Conference in Burundi targeting their vision, entitled 'Burundi, an Emerging Country by 2040 and a Developed Country by 2060' in December 2024.
