Scope
This program is designed to equip participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in financial markets, mutual funds, fundamental and technical analysis, and derivatives. It aims to develop independent investors and traders capable of earning profits while minimizing risks.
Programme Objectives
The objective of the Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Market Analytics is to provide participants with in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical exposure to the functioning of financial markets. The program aims to:
Build foundational knowledge of equity, debt, money, and derivative markets, including the regulatory framework and trading mechanisms.
Develop analytical skills through training in fundamental and technical analysis, enabling students to evaluate investment opportunities effectively.
Equip learners with hands-on proficiency in financial spreadsheets and financial modelling to support data-driven decision-making in investment and risk management.
Introduce learners to derivative products and strategies, including futures, options, and forex, to help manage and hedge market risks.
Familiarize students with mutual funds and portfolio management principles, emphasizing diversification, risk-return analysis, and valuation.
Incorporate data analytics tools and techniques for risk assessment, corporate governance analysis, and performance measurement in portfolio and investment management.
Bridge theory with practice through real-world case studies, simulations, and strategy-based applications to foster independent trading and investment skills.

Eligibility Criteria
Final degree appeared or graduates in any discipline from a recognized university.
Please note the candidate appeared for final year degree is required to mention combined marks for previous Semester/Year. Students with arrears or supplementary papers are not eligible.

Diploma
Diploma will be given after the successful completion of both the semesters jointly by St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata and FinX Institute Limited (Formerly known as BSE Institute Limited)
A student must obtain a minimum of 75% attendance in all papers/subjects separately. A student who has between 60% and 74% attendance on grounds of illness or any other unavoidable circumstance will have to seek condonation from the Prof-in-Charge of COP. Without the condonation the student will not be allowed to appear for the examination.
