September 13, 2025	E-Waste Management Cleanliness Drive	Time: 10:30 A.M to 1:30 P.M Venue: Raghudevbati Shadharoner Bidyalyoy A presentation with several slides of illustrative pictures and descriptions on managing electronic waste was shown by B.Ed first-year students as a part of the Mangalam program. The students at college were divided into various groups who individually prepared decorative items out of e-waste materials and presented it infront of theteachers.
September 20, 2025	Vigilance our sharedResponsibility	Time: 2:30 - 4:30PM Venue: Seminar Hall, The Post Graduate Department of Education This was an Invited Lecture delivered as a part of the three-month-long Vigilance Awareness Programme as per the directive of NCTE. Mr. Arup Kr. Biswas, Officer-in- Charge, Bowbazaar Police Station, acted as the Speaker and Resource Person. The trainee teachers were made aware of the dangers of social engineering in a dynamic online world.
July 24, 2025	Circle of Joy	Time: 12-12:15 PM Venue: Seminar Hall, The Post Graduate Department of Education Circle of Joy is a charitable initiative of the Xaverian Education Society. The formal inauguration of the charitable drive was generously done by Rev. Fr. Principal Dr. Dominic Savio, SJ, who also made the first dination. He addressed the students, explaining to them the importance of gratitude anda spirit of giving.
September 19, 2025	Food Fest	Time: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Theme: Flavours of the Flow The Third AnnualFood Festival organized by the Post Graduate Department of Education saw the celebration of India’s diverse riverine culinary traditions.
September 4, 2025	Teachers Day Celebration	Time: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Venue: Father Depelchin Auditorium A programme was conducted by the Post Graduate Department of Education, attended by Father Principal and other dignitaries, in the presence of Vice Principal Ma’am Dr. Swati Sarkar and all theprofessors of the department. A dance performance on the theme of the 5 elementsof nature waspresented by B.Ed 1^st and 2^nd Year and MA 2^nd Year students, followed by a song performed by B.Ed 1^stand 2^nd Year students. Food packages were distributed among teachers and students.

August 4 – 7, 2025	Foundation Course	Time: 10:10 am – 3:00pm Venue: Seminar Hall,Postgraduate Department of Education A week-long value-added course was conductedby the Department of Education where the B.Ed. first years were divided into 5 groupsheaded by several professors. The professors took turns to deliver lectures on various aspects of Indian Ethos and the groups took turns to indulge into activities ranging from presentations to quizzes on and about IndianEthos.
July 26, 2025	CPR	Time: 10:00 am - 12:45pm Venue: Seminar Hall,Postgraduate Department of Education The CPR Awareness Driveconducted at the Postgraduate Department of Education was organised by the IAP ALS BLS Group, who begun the session with a physical demonstration of the CPR procedures, followed by a hands-on session for all the students as well as;the professors.
July 24, 2025	Celebration of Fr Principals Birth Day	Time: 11:45 AM - 12:15 PM Venue Seminar Hall, The Post Graduate Department of Education The celebration of Rev. Fr. Dominic Savio, SJ’s birthday by the Post Graduate Department of Education was marked by songs, felicitation of Father Principal, a speech by Father Principal and cake cutting ceremony.
July 15, 2025	Induction (B.Ed1^st Years)	Time: 1:30 pm - 4:00pm Venue: Seminar Hall, Postgraduate Department of Education The Induction Programme for B.Ed. First- year students were organised by the Second-Year students of the Postgraduate Department of Education. The programme included an informal briefing on the rules and regulations of the department and college at large, as well as the various events organised by the department throughout the year. The session also included a few danceperformances and an ice-breaking session where fun interactive games were played with the students to facilitate communication.
July 15, 2025	Orientation (B.Ed1^st Years)	Time: 10:10 am - 1:15pm Venue: Seminar Hall, Postgraduate Department of Education The formal orientation programme for B.Ed. First-year students were presided over by Professor Dr Dona DasSengupta, where the students were informed about the syllabus for each semester as well as the various activities and internships as part of the course. The students were shown a presentation, which followed an interactive session where the teachers clarified various doubts.
July 14, 2025	Inaugural Programme	Time: 10:40 AM - 12:15PM Venue: Father Depelchin Auditorium The Formal Inauguration of B. Ed First Year students was marked by song and dance performances by the Second Year B. Ed students, the display of a prayer video, the welcome address by Rev. Fr. Rector Jeyaraj Veluswamy, SJ, the inaugural speech by Rev. Fr. Principal Jeyaraj Veluswamy, SJ, an informative speech by Dr. Swati Sarkar, Vice-Principal, The Post Graduate Departmentof Education and the Voteof Thanks by Prof. SirinRay.
6th March and 7th March 2025	ICSSR-ERC sponsored two-day international seminar 2025 On “THE EMERGING ISSUES OF G20: A YOUTH PERSPECTIVE.	On 6th March 2025, the Postgraduate Department of Education, St Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata organised the ICSSR-ERC sponsored International Seminar entitled “The Emerging Issues of G20: A Youth Perspective. Prof. Krishnajyoti Goswami from Lincoln University College, Malaysia, delivered the keynote address on "Global Leadership for Peace." Following the keynote address, the panel discussion focused on "Climate Change, Economic Inequality, and Access to Health Care for Future Generations." Prof. Prabhat Kumar Datta, speaking on "Political Empowerment of Women Through Quota: Rhetoric and Reality," where the role of quotas in promoting women's political participation was discussed. The day concluded with the paper presentations by the participants. On 7th March, the morning session of the ICSSR-ERC sponsored International Seminar was dedicated to paper presentations both in online and offline mode. In the afternoon session, Dr. Anuttama Banerjee spoke on "Digital Well-Being in the Age of Hyperconnectivity: Psychological Strategies in a G20-Connected World,". The valedictory session which followed a tea break was addressed by Rev. Dr. J. Felix Raj, SJ, Vice Chancellor of St. Xavier's University, Kolkata summarizing the key discussions of the seminar and emphasizing the role of youth in shaping the future of the G20. He also discussed the importance of AI (Artificial Intelligence), HI (Human Intelligence) and DI (Divine Intelligence).
28th February and 1st March 2025	Xenith- Chapter 2, Yards of TIme	Xenith-Yards of Time, the annual intercollegiate fest held from 28th February to 1st March 2025. This year's Xenith was organized on a grander scale, with an expanded number of 16 participating colleges, a wider range of cultural performances, and intensified competitions in music, dance, debate, and creative arts. The two-day event combined cultural performances, competitive activities, and academic presentations, fostering unity and collaboration among participants from various institutions.
30th November to 2nd December 2024	Research Survey and awareness program in Eklavya School and Tribal villages of Bankura, West Bengal	The socio-economic survey and awareness program was conducted by 70 students of the B.Ed. Semester III and M.A. Ed. Semester III which explored environmental practices, education, and livelihoods within the villages and also awareness program in Eklavya Model Residential School emphasizing education’s transformative potential.
7th September to 21st September 2024	Swachhata Pakhwada 2024	The B.Ed students of Mangalam project conducted activities including poster-making, slogan writing, personal hygiene awareness, and sapling plantation in collaboration with students and teachers of Raghudevbati Sadharaner Vidyalaya. Further the B.Ed. students led school programs featuring mime acts, campus cleaning, poster-making, and slogan-writing, promoting water conservation and environmental cleanliness were initiated during the campaign.
24^th July to 30^th September 2024	Circle of Joy	The clothes drive saw enthusiastic participation from both teachers and students, with contributions of gently used clothes and accessories coming from across the college community; promoting community service, sustainability, reinforcing values of empathy, social responsibility, and environmental consciousness.
24^th September 2024	Food Fest: Agomonir Swad	The students were divided into groups of 5 regional zones of India highlighting India's rich food heritage throughwell-loved street food and crowd-favourite pleasures from all over the country, prepared by the students themselves.
5^th September 2024	Teachers’ Day Celebration	The Postgraduate Department of Education at St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata celebrated Teachers’ Day to honour the contributions of teachers and the legacy of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
23^rdAugust & 27^th August 2024	Foundation Course	The students of B.Ed Semester 1 were divided into six groups, each representing a religion, to provide an opportunity to acquire knowledge about different religions and delve deep into the philosophy, guidance, and teachings of each.
19^th -20^th August 2024	Induction Programme (MA)	Different Sessions with different speakers were organized to create a positive and supportive experience for new students, enabling them to contribute effectively to the organization's success while feeling valued and integrated into the institute’s culture.
17th August, 2024	Orientation Programme (MA)	The students of M.A. Education, Semester I were provided insights into class schedules, subject codes, and assessment procedures, emphasizing the importance of utilizing the college library, earning credit points through active participation, and engaging in research activities, including fieldwork for dissertations.
13^th-14 August 2024	Micro Block Teaching	The students of B.Ed, Semester-III (2023-2025) were divided into heterogeneous blocks of 25 students each. These blocks of students were assessed, evaluated and guided individually on the basis of their Micro teaching skills.
13^th August 2024	Invited Lecture	Resource person, Dr. Samrat Roy, Ph. D Coordinator and Associate Professor, Department of Commerce, St. Xavier’s College delivered a lecture on ‘Research Proposal’
9^th August 2024	Invited Lecture -“Fostering Emotional Intelligence among Adolescents: Strategies for Teachers.”	The department organised an invited lecture on “Fostering Emotional Intelligence among Adolescents: Strategies for Teachers.” The resource person was an eminent psychologist, Dr. Anuttama Banerjee.

Resource persons like Dr. Brinda Bazeley Kharbiryambai, Professor, Department of Education, North East Hill University, Prof. Dr Ramakanta Mohalik, Professor and Head, Departmentof Education, Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), Dr. Prabhat Kumar Dutta, Adjunct Professor, Xavier Law School, St. Xavier’s University, Mr. Souvik Dutta, Lead Data Scientist RPSG Group & Dr. Saibal Kar, RBI Chair Professor of Economics Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta graced the occasion with their lectures.

25^th November – 23^rd December 2023	Nayi Chetna	The students orchestrated a poignant yet passionate awareness rally and street play at Raghudev Bati Bidyalaya, Nalpur. The initiative, led by DAY-NRLM's (Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- National Rural Livelihoods Mission) self-help groups, aimed to elevate the rights of women and gender-diverse individuals.
25^th November 2023	Mile Sur Mera Tumhara	The Postgraduate Department of Education in association with the Xaverian Education Society organized a cultural programme entitled ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara’ as a part of NCTE’s Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav initiative to promote language learning through technology and the rich diversity of regional languages in India.

This event stood as a celebration of heritage, sustainability, and self-reliance, embodying the spirit of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan' – a self-reliant India.
7^th October 2023	SEMINAR on “Positive Psychology in Negative Situation”	Keynote speaker Muktipada Sinha, HOD of Department of Education of Jadavpur University, emphasized practical positive psychology techniques, highlighting the importance of self-efficacy and mindfulness in overcoming challenges.
3^rd-4^th October 2023	Foundation Course (B.Ed)	Foundation Course highlighting the religious diversity of India the for the 1st Year students of B.Ed. The students were divided into six groups each discussing a religion, including Christianity, Islam, Jainism, Sikhism, Hinduism and Buddhism.
30^th September 2023	Swachhta Drive	The Education department’s passionate commitment to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 3.0, symbolized by Swachchta and the Panch Pran pledges on 30th September, marked a transformative beginning. A significant moment transpired on 12th October, as Father Principal Rev. Dr. Dominic Savio SJ, Vice Principal Dr. Swati Sarkar, faculty, and students actively swept the campus grounds, showcasing unwavering dedication.
23^rd September 2023	SEMINAR on Universal Human Values	The honourable resource person for the lecture on the topic “Universal Human Values” was Swami Divyagunananda, (Monastic Honorary) of Ramkrishna Mission Sikshanamandira. The event was attended by the professors and students of B.Ed. and M.A. The event helped everyone present in inculcating the different ideas and the universal human values discussed in the seminar.

26^th August 2023	Meri Mitti Mera Desh	"Meri mati mera desh," a campaign for the celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, has been conducted by the post graduate department of Education of St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. Its vision is to support raising awareness among everyone associated with TEIs. There were different activities undertaken in order to commemorate the essence pertinent to the campaign.
18^th August 2023	Library Orientation Programme	Dr. Chinmay Mukhopadhyay, the librarian of our college, along with two library assistants conducted a short lecture cum demonstration on the library resources, usage, rules and regulations and other related aspects of the library. This was followed by an interactive session.
15^th August 2023	Har Ghar Tiranga	The National Flag of India was
		hoisted in the college premises following the ‘Flag Code of India 2002’ and Selfies with the
		National Flag of India were taken to mark this momentous occasion as per the NCTE
		instructions.

22^nd July 2023	Workshop on ‘Best out of Waste’	The workshop was organized to commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, an initiative introduced by the Government of India to celebrate the completion of 75 years of Indian Independence. The workshop aimed to educate the trainee-teachers on the importance of reducing their carbon footprint by giving a new life to things considered useless.
11^th July 2023	Special lecture on ‘Research Proposal’	Resource person, Dr. Samrat Roy, Ph. D Coordinator and Associate Professor, Department of Commerce, St. Xavier’s College delivered a lecture on ‘Research Proposal’
