Under the esteemed guidance of the Principal of St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata, Rev. Fr. Dr. Dominic Savio SJ, the Xaverian Education Society (XES) of the Department of Education will organise a Food Fest on the 20.2.24 from 11am to 2pm to showcase the rich and unique culinary diversity of India. While the delectable escapade is in and itself a draw, the major aim of this lip-smacking venture is imbued with the more nuanced purpose of promoting a profound understanding of the plethora of palates that define our nation, and ultimately rouse a deep well of appreciation and empathy for the different cultures because these are the very differences that embody and differentiate our country from the rest.
The Xaverian Education Society (XES) of the Postgraduate Department of Education, St Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata organised the second edition of Food Fest: ‘Agomonir Swad’ on 24th September, 2024 at the campus Gymnasium from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Rector, Jeyraj Veluswamy, the President of XES, Rev. Dr. Dominic Savio, SJ, Principal of St. Xavier’s College Autonomous), Kolkata, Deputy President, Dr. Swati Sarkar, Vice-Principal of Postgraduate Department of Education, Vice Principal Commerce evening, BMS and Management Studies, Dr. Peter Arokiam and Vice-Deputy President Dr. Dona Das Sengupta. ‘Agomonir Swad’ showcased a melting pot of flavours heralding the spirit of jubilance as India enters the festive season. This year’s theme of ‘Victory of Good over Evil’ served as a triumphant call to action welcoming the spirit of festivity and celebration through an appetising bonanza. With its thrust on unity in diversity, the food fest highlighted India's rich food heritage through culinary items and timeless traditional dishes from all over the country, prepared by the students themselves.
